INDUSTRY LEADING PERFORMANCE SINCE THE EARLY 1970s
Grit particles found in municipal wastewater have slower settling velocities than equal sized clean sand particles. This happens because fat, oil, grease, soap, and organics coat the grit, causing it to settle like a much smaller particle. This is called the “light grit” effect. Grit removal systems must be sized for smaller grit particles in order to capture these “light grit” particles.
Grit does not enter treatment plants continuously. Grit gathers in the collection system until washed out during peak flows when conventional grit removal systems perform worst. An assortment of Eutek TeaCup™ sizes or multiple Eutek TeaCup ™ units can be used to accommodate any flow range.
The Eutek TeaCup™ is the industry leader in high performance grit removal for municipal water and wastewater headworks, industrial water reuse, and snail shell removal applications.
The unique Eutek TeaCup™ design uses a combination of a free vortex and the boundary layer effect to capture, classify, and remove fine grit, sugar sand, and high density fixed solids.
The Eutek TeaCup™ discharges a clean (low organic) grit slurry, which emits fewer odors and requires only dewatering to meet stringent disposal regulations.
The “all-hydraulic” design of the Eutek TeaCup ™ provides increased grit removal performance as increasing flows transport large grit loads into the plant. In contrast, traditional gravity and forced vortex grit control systems have decreasing removal performance with increased flows.
